Why do we care about Sustainability
Growing up in Colorado gave me a deep appreciation for nature from a young age. In school, when I began to learn about environmental challenges like climate change and pollution, I knew I wanted to make a difference. I even studied Environmental Science and Sustainability in college!

Other Sustainable Practices
I use my social platforms to share about sustainability tips throughout the year, but I especially love sharing a big push in April for Earth Month! I share sustainability tips with my clients in their Wedding or Elopement Guides that are sent to them in their client portal.
I am a LNT Aware Certified photographer, and I adhere to these in my shoots and weddings. I am respectful of staying on trails and durable surfaces, and not trampling over delicate plant life like the tundra or wildflowers. I ensure I get necessary permits for locations that require them, and I also ensure that my clients and I all "pack it in and pack it out" when going to any location.
Imperfectly Sustainable
Katie Fletcher Photography says: "I drive a gas powered car to my events and shoots; with where I live, I am not in a position to purchase an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle, and I do have to drive a lot to mountain destinations throughout the state. I also have to balance the needs of new technology that is constantly improving, while also being realistic about the amount of electronics I consume as a photographer. Do I need the newest version of a camera, or can I get more use out of what I have now?"
